Leasing Agent

About the role

The Hampton Collective is growing, and we're looking for a Leasing Agent who genuinely likes helping people find the right place to land. You'll work directly with renters across Chicago — showing units, matching people to neighborhoods and budgets, and guiding them through applications and lease signings from first inquiry to keys-in-hand.

We do this work honestly and without pressure. If you're the kind of person who'd rather find someone the right apartment than just close the fastest deal, you'll fit in here. A lot of our renters are future buyers, so you're often the first step in someone's longer housing journey — and we treat that seriously.

What you'll do

• Respond quickly to rental leads and set up showings
• Show available units and walk clients through neighborhoods, pricing, and trade-offs
• Help clients prepare and submit applications, and coordinate with landlords and property managers
• Guide tenants through lease terms and signing
• Keep your pipeline organized in our CRM (we'll train you on the tools)
• Build relationships that turn renters into repeat clients down the road

What we're looking for

• An Illinois Leasing Agent License or Broker License — or willingness to obtain one within 120 days of starting (Illinois allows you to work under supervision while you complete it)
• Strong communication skills and a warm, professional way with people
• Self-motivated and organized — you can manage your own schedule and follow up reliably
• Comfortable working evenings and weekends when clients are available
• Reliable transportation to travel between showings across the city
• Familiarity with Chicago neighborhoods is a big plus
