Leasing Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Leasing Specialist to join our property management team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the leasing process from initial inquiry to lease signing, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective residents. Duties

• Respond promptly to leasing inquiries via phone, email, and in person, providing comprehensive information about available units and community amenities
• Conduct property tours, highlighting features and benefits to prospective tenants while addressing their questions and concerns effectively
• Prepare, review, and manage lease or rental agreements ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards such as landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations
• Utilize our property management software, Yardi Voyager to enter data accurately, track lease statuses, and generate reports
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure property readiness and address tenant requests related to property maintenance or facilities management
• Negotiate lease terms with applicants, upselling additional services or amenities when appropriate to enhance client satisfaction
• Maintain organized filing systems for lease documents, legal paperwork, and client correspondence in accordance with company policies
• Manage tenant relations by resolving conflicts professionally using conflict management skills while ensuring adherence to legal administrative procedures
• Assist in budgeting activities related to leasing operations and monitor occupancy rates to meet company goals
• Stay up to date on relevant regulations including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 housing programs, and other affordable housing requirements

Qualifications

• Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with familiarity using property management tools like Yardi or OneSite
• Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and Section 8 housing programs
• Prior experience handling lease or rental agreement management with attention to detail and legal compliance
• Excellent customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and client communication abilities
• Demonstrated conflict management and negotiation skills to foster positive tenant relationships
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry, reporting, and correspondence
• Experience working within property management companies or facilities management environments is preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy in data entry and filing tasks
• Strong organizational skills

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
