Role Description

This is a contract Legal Advisor role based in Kathmandu with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a combination of on-site work and work from home.

The Legal Advisor will review, draft, and negotiate contracts, service agreements, and other legal documents related to information technology & other consulting services. The role involves providing legal advice on regulatory compliance, data protection, labor and employment matters, and general corporate legal issues.

The Legal Advisor will support internal teams by assessing legal risks in business initiatives, preparing clear documentation, and recommending risk-mitigation strategies. The role also includes monitoring relevant legal and regulatory changes, coordinating with external legal resources when needed, and ensuring company policies are aligned with applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant statutes and regulations.
• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts and agreements.
• Experience handling a range of Legal Issues and providing practical, solution-oriented Legal Advice to business stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, particularly as it relates to contracts, policies, and compliance in a consulting or technology environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law; bar qualification or license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction is preferred.
• Prior experience as a legal advisor, in-house counsel, or similar role, ideally within IT, consulting, or technology-focused organizations.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally, and to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Kathmandu, managing priorities independently and meeting deadlines.
