About the role

We are seeking a Legal Associate to join KC Chan & Associates, a reputable law firm specialising in personal injury law. This is a full-time position based in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. As a Legal Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality legal services to our clients whilst supporting the firm's commitment to delivering exceptional representation in personal injury matters. What you'll be doing

• Conducting legal research and analysis on personal injury cases, relevant statutes, and case precedents
• Drafting legal documents including pleadings, interlocutory application(s), correspondence, and settlement agreements
• Preparing case files and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with firm procedures
• Assisting in the investigation of personal injury claims, including gathering evidence and witness statements
• Communicating with clients to provide updates on case progress and obtain necessary information
• Liaising with opposing counsel, insurance companies, and other relevant parties
• Conducting legal due diligence and case assessment to support litigation strategy
• Attending court proceedings and supporting senior Lawyers during hearings and trials
• Assisting with client intake and case management administration
• Contributing to the development of case strategies under the supervision of senior legal staff

What we're looking for

• A law degree from a recognised university and admission to the Malaysian Bar or equivalent legal qualification
• 0-3 years of post-qualification experience in personal injury law or civil litigation
• Strong research and writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
• A thorough understanding of civil procedure and the Malaysian legal system
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Keen interest in personal injury law and a commitment to client advocacy
• Experience with personal injury claims handling or litigation would be advantageous
