Legal Compliance Advisor

Job Summary:

A Legal Compliance Advisor provides guidance to organizations on legal and regulatory requirements, helping ensure that business activities, policies, contracts, and operations comply with applicable laws and internal standards. The role identifies compliance risks and recommends measures to prevent legal and regulatory issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Advise management and business teams on legal and regulatory compliance matters.

Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards that may affect the organization.

Develop, review, and update compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Conduct compliance risk assessments and identify potential legal and regulatory exposures.

Review business processes, agreements, contracts, and documentation for compliance concerns.

Support regulatory filings, licenses, permits, and reporting requirements.

Conduct internal compliance reviews, audits, and investigations when necessary.

Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs for employees.

Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, investigations, and corrective actions.

Coordinate with internal legal teams, regulators, auditors, and external counsel.

Investigate reported compliance concerns and recommend appropriate corrective measures.

Monitor implementation of compliance policies and follow up on identified issues.

Prepare compliance reports, risk assessments, and recommendations for senior management.

Promote ethical business practices and a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field.

A law degree or professional legal qualification may be required depending on the jurisdiction and scope of the role.

Proven experience in legal compliance, regulatory affairs, risk management, or corporate governance.

Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks.

Excellent research, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements.

Experience with compliance management systems and audit processes is an advantage.
