Legislative Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support government relations, policy monitoring, member activities, and association operations. This position is well suited for someone early in their career who has an interest in California public policy and enjoys work that combines research, writing, coordination, and relationship management.

Responsibilities:

The individual in this role will help the team stay informed on legislative and regulatory activity, coordinate meetings and programs, prepare written materials, and keep multiple priorities organized and moving forward.

Qualifications:

-At least one year of relevant professional experience preferred.

-Interest in California legislative and governmental processes, public policy, healthcare, or a related field.

-Strong business writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

-Excellent attention to detail and the ability to stay organized in a deadline-driven environment.

-Ability to manage several assignments, meetings, and priorities simultaneously.

-Strong follow-through with a willingness to take responsibility for projects.

-Professional judgment when communicating with senior leaders, public-sector representatives, members, consultants, and external partners.

-Comfort working with standard business technology, including Microsoft Office applications, email, spreadsheets, presentations, virtual meeting platforms, and collaboration tools.

-Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will also be considered.
