Position Overview:

OUI Recruitment is recruiting a Level 2 Support Engineer for a large IT services provider in Perth.

The work is varied. You'll be across desktops, servers, networking and security for a mixed portfolio of business clients, so no two days look the same. The bulk of the role is day-to-day tickets, with project work coming your way as you build up. No project experience needed; that side gets taught properly rather than thrown at you.

It's a good fit if you want steady technical growth, don't mind client contact, and would rather work somewhere that does things properly than somewhere that cuts corners to get the ticket closed.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support a portfolio of business clients by phone, email and on site
• Troubleshoot across desktops, servers, networking and security
• Work tickets, requests and scheduled changes in line with internal process
• Keep client infrastructure maintained, including servers, network gear and storage
• Pitch in on project work such as upgrades, rollouts and network changes
• Assist with backups, remote access and network planning
• Keep documentation accurate and current
• Chase recurring issues back to root cause instead of patching the symptom
• Flag repetitive tasks worth automating and ways the team could work better

Role Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' hands-on IT support experience, or equivalent
• MSP or IT services background is an advantage
• Confident communicator who is comfortable dealing with clients directly
• Methodical troubleshooter
• Able to manage your own workload and juggle competing priorities
• Proactive: happy to raise issues and suggest fixes rather than wait to be asked
• Keen to keep learning and building skills

Technical Requirements:

• Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365)
• Networking fundamentals: routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs
• Physical and virtual server infrastructure
• Ticketing and documentation systems
• Backup and disaster recovery principles
• Microsoft certifications (desirable)
