Hours: 36 hours per week over 4 days
Contract: Permanent, year-round
Working hours: Between 7:30am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Are you looking for a role where no two days are exactly the same?

We are looking for a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our small, friendly team.

We are a private day nursery caring for up to 36 children per day, and because of our size, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, flexibility and working with children across the full 0–5 age range.

This is not a fixed room-based role. You will have the opportunity to work across our baby, toddler and preschool rooms, gaining experience with different ages, stages of development and areas of the EYFS.

What makes this role different?

We are looking for someone who enjoys having variety in their working day.

Your role may include:

  • Working within our baby room, supporting our youngest children with their care, routines and development
  • Working within our toddler room, supporting children's growing independence, communication and emotional development
  • Working within our preschool room, supporting school readiness, learning and development
  • Providing lunch cover to allow other members of the team to take their breaks
  • Supporting colleagues across the setting where additional assistance is needed
  • Helping with daily routines and transitions
  • Supporting mealtimes, sleep routines and personal care
  • Contributing to activities and continuous provision
  • Completing observations and supporting children's individual learning and development
  • Building positive relationships with children and their families
  • Carrying out general nursery duties to help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment

Because we are a small setting, teamwork is extremely important. Everyone plays their part in ensuring the nursery runs smoothly, and you will have the opportunity to get to know children and colleagues across the whole setting.

Working Pattern

This is a 36-hour-per-week role over 4 days, working year-round.

Working days and hours will be provided 4 weeks in advance and will fall between our opening hours of 7:30am and 6:00pm.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely flexible and happy to work a mixture of shifts and across different rooms according to the needs of the setting.

Attendance Bonus

We recognise the importance of having a reliable and consistent team in early years.

We therefore offer an attendance bonus of £0.50 per hour.

Where an employee has no sickness or absence days during the relevant month/pay period, an additional £0.50 per hour will be paid for all hours worked within that qualifying pay period.

This is in addition to your normal hourly rate.

About Our Team

We are a small, friendly team where everyone knows each other and works together to provide the best possible experience for the children.

We value:

  • Teamwork
  • Reliability
  • Kindness and respect
  • Positive relationships
  • Professionalism
  • Good communication
  • A willingness to help colleagues
  • A positive attitude
  • A genuine passion for early years

As a smaller setting, you will not simply be another member of a large team. Your contribution will be noticed and valued, and you will have the opportunity to build relationships with children and families across the whole nursery.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification, up-to-date paediatric first aid training, safeguarding training and is registered with the DBS update service.
  • Has a genuine passion for working with children aged 0–5
  • Enjoys variety and working across different age groups
  • Is flexible and happy to work in babies, toddlers and preschool
  • Is reliable and committed to their role
  • Is warm, caring, patient and approachable
  • Has a good understanding of the EYFS and child development
  • Can provide nurturing, responsive interactions
  • Works well as part of a small team
  • Is confident communicating with colleagues and parents/carers
  • Can use their own initiative
  • Is willing to support with general nursery duties and lunch cover
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
  • Is keen to continue developing their knowledge and skills

What We Offer

  • 36 hours per week over 4 days
  • Permanent, year-round employment
  • Working hours between 7:30am and 6:00pm
  • Rotas provided 4 weeks in advance
  • £0.50 per hour attendance bonus when qualifying attendance criteria are met
  • A small, friendly and supportive team
  • Variety across babies, toddlers and preschool
  • Opportunities for CPD and professional development
  • Supportive management
  • A positive and nurturing working environment
