Librarian

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and technology-oriented Librarian to manage the Central Library of our Autonomous College offering MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, and B.Com programmes. The role involves library administration, academic resource management, digital services, and student/faculty support.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Central Library operations and administration
• Manage books, journals, e-resources, databases, and digital library services
• Oversee procurement, cataloguing, classification, accessioning, circulation, and stock verification
• Provide academic, reference, and research support to students and faculty
• Manage Library Management System / ERP and digital resources
• Monitor library requirements and subscriptions for all academic programmes
• Maintain library records, reports, and institutional documentation
• Support accreditation, audit, and institutional reporting requirements as per AICTE, NAAC, NBA, UGC and other regulatory and accrediting Bodies.

Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science (MLIS/MLISc) or equivalent
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in a college/university library preferred

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Library Science and library automation
• Proficiency in Library Management Software / ERP / Digital Resources
• Knowledge of digital libraries, e-journals, databases, and e-resources
• Good documentation, communication, and record-management skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and digital tools
• Experience in NAAC / AICTE / UGC documentation
• Knowledge of KOHA, N-LIST, DELNET, Sodhganga etc.
