Librarian

About the Role

Kuniya College of Arts & Science (KCAS), part of Kuniya Group of Institutions, is looking for a qualified and dedicated Librarian to manage the college library and support the academic and research needs of our students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the college library
• Catalogue, classify and maintain books, journals and other library resources
• Manage the issue, return and stock verification of library materials
• Maintain library records and the library management software
• Assist students and faculty in finding books, journals and digital resources
• Support access to e-resources, databases and e-journals
• Recommend and coordinate the purchase of new books and subscriptions
• Maintain discipline and an orderly, quiet environment in the library
• Promote reading habits and library use among students

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.) from a recognised university (required)
• Ph.D. or UGC-NET (either one is mandatory)

Experience

• Experience in a college or university library preferred
• Familiarity with library management software and digital library resources preferred

Skills

• Cataloguing, classification and library management
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Basic computer skills (MS Office)
• Ability to assist students and faculty with research

Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
