As a Licensed Electrician, you will help lead the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, removal, and reinstallation of residential photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. You will provide hands-on electrical expertise for solar installations, solar service calls, battery storage systems, EV wall connectors, and related residential electrical projects. Your technical knowledge, commitment to safe work practices, and customer-first attitude will directly support the quality and success of our projects.

Duties

  • Evaluate job requirements, scope of work, materials, labor needs, and potential costs in collaboration with field leadership and team members.
  • Install, maintain, diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot residential electrical systems and components.
  • Perform solar PV installation, maintenance, service, removal, and reinstallation work, including projects associated with roof replacements.
  • Support the installation and service of battery energy-storage systems, EV wall connectors, electrical panels, disconnects, breakers, conduit, wiring, and related equipment.
  • Identify electrical issues and recommend safe, code-compliant solutions.
  • Help lead and reinforce safe work practices for the Field Operations team, including PPE use, electrical safety, fall protection, and jobsite hazard awareness.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, manufacturer requirements, company standards, and permitting/inspection requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by clearly explaining work when appropriate, answering questions professionally, and providing real-time updates on job status.
  • Maintain an organized, professional, and safety-conscious jobsite.
  • Complete required job documentation, photos, material records, and service notes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current electrical license required, with the ability to legally perform applicable electrical work in Illinois and the municipalities we serve.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical-safety practices.
  • Previous experience in the electrical trade, including work with electrical equipment, wiring, panels, circuits, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Solar PV, battery-storage, EV-charger, roofing coordination, or residential service experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical plans, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and jobsite documentation.
  • Ability to work safely at heights, including on roofs with steep pitches.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying or extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, and move at least 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew.

What We Offer

  • Starting pay of $30.00 per hour, with compensation based on license level, experience, solar/battery expertise, and job responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to work on residential solar, battery-storage, EV-charging, and electrical-service projects.
  • A collaborative field environment with opportunities to grow your technical and leadership skills.
  • Meaningful work supporting clean-energy solutions for homeowners across Illinois.

To apply: Please submit your resume and include your electrical license type, municipality or jurisdiction of licensure, and solar or any relevant experience.
