What You'll Do

• Originate residential mortgage loans from consultation through closing
• Analyze borrower financial profiles, income, assets, debt, and credit
• Present mortgage solutions tailored to customer needs
• Convert company-provided leads and outbound opportunities
• Maintain consistent borrower communication and follow-up
• Collect and review loan documentation
• Manage an active pipeline of applications, approvals, and closings
• Collaborate with processors, underwriters, and operations teams
• Develop referral and repeat business opportunities
• Meet production and customer service goals

Required Qualifications

• Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator License OR
• Successfully passed the NMLS licensing exam and eligible for sponsorship
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple borrowers and loan files simultaneously
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in a commission-only sales environment
• Strong follow-up and customer service skills
• Professional handling of confidential financial information

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Mortgage Loan Officer or Mortgage Originator experience
• Experience with purchase and refinance transactions
• Knowledge of FHA, Conventional, DSCR, Reverse Mortgage, Construction, or Commercial loan products
• Licensed in multiple states
• Experience using mortgage CRM or LOS systems
• Existing referral network
• Proven success converting mortgage leads

Work Location

Michigan Candidates

• Onsite work in Farmington Hills, MI preferred

Remote Candidates

• Remote opportunities available for candidates licensed in states where Northgate Mortgage is authorized to conduct business
• Must meet all licensing and compliance requirements
• Must be able to work independently while maintaining strong communication and productivity

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

• Commission-only position
• Uncapped earning potential
• Earnings based on funded loan production and closings
• No guaranteed base salary
