Job Summary

Mr. Pipey Plumbing is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Master Plumber to join our growing team. We are looking for a knowledgeable plumbing professional with strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering quality service and excellent customer experiences.

The ideal candidate will have extensive plumbing experience, a valid Michigan Master Plumber license, and the ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues, oversee installations and repairs, and ensure work meets applicable plumbing codes and safety standards.

This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in their work, communicates effectively with customers and team members, and can help support our technicians in the field. Our service area includes Metro Detroit and surrounding communities throughout Southeast Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Perform, oversee, and assist with residential and commercial plumbing repairs, installations, replacements, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose complex plumbing problems and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
• Ensure all plumbing work complies with applicable Michigan plumbing codes, local regulations, permit requirements, and safety standards.
• Obtain, review, and coordinate plumbing permits and inspections as required.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and support to plumbers, apprentices, and helpers.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, code compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving water heaters, drain and sewer lines, water supply lines, fixtures, pumps, and other plumbing systems.
• Assist with sewer and drain repairs, water line replacements, excavation-related plumbing projects, and other service work as needed.
• Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, office staff, and field personnel.
• Explain plumbing issues, recommended repairs, and available solutions to customers in a clear and professional manner.
• Review job scopes, materials, and equipment requirements to help ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, job notes, and reports.
• Promote a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
• Represent Mr. Pipey Plumbing with professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to customer service.

Skills

• Active Michigan Master Plumber license in good standing.
• Extensive experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan plumbing codes, regulations, permitting, and inspection requirements.
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex plumbing issues.
• Experience with plumbing installations, repairs, replacements, drain and sewer systems, and water supply systems.
• Knowledge of water heaters, plumbing fixtures, pumps, piping materials, and related plumbing equipment.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide, train, and support other plumbing professionals.
• Excellent troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plumbing plans, job scopes, and technical specifications.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the office and field teams.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and accountable.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as required for the position.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment and manage changing job priorities.
• Commitment to maintaining professional standards and representing the company positively.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
