What they need

Build Your PTA Career With One-on-One Patient Care, Strong Physical Therapist Support, and a Schedule That Leaves Room for Life

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you should have the time, clinical support, and collaboration needed to provide meaningful Physical Therapy care, not simply move patients through a crowded schedule.

At New Smyrna Wellness, you will work closely with experienced Physical Therapists in a patient-first environment built around 40-minute, one-on-one treatment sessions with no overlapping patients.

You will help primarily geriatric and post-operative orthopedic patients improve strength, mobility, balance, function, and independence while playing an important role in carrying out individualized Physical Therapy plans of care.

Whether you are an experienced PTA or beginning your career, you will have ongoing mentorship, direct Physical Therapist collaboration, continuing education opportunities, and the time to actually see your patients progress.

If you are looking for a Physical Therapy team where your contribution matters, quality care comes before volume, and your schedule gives you more balance outside of work, we would love to meet you.

Why PTAs Choose New Smyrna Wellness

Treat One Patient at a Time

You will have 40 dedicated minutes with each patient, without overlapping appointments or managing multiple patients at once.

That gives you more time to focus on skilled Physical Therapy treatment, patient education, proper exercise progression, movement quality, and the clinical details that support better outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Guide therapeutic exercise and functional progression
  • Reinforce proper movement patterns and technique
  • Provide hands-on and movement-based treatment as directed by the Physical Therapist
  • Educate patients throughout their recovery
  • Monitor patient response to treatment
  • Communicate meaningful changes directly with the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Help patients stay motivated and engaged throughout their plan of care

Work Closely With Physical Therapists

You will not be working in isolation.

As a PTA, you will collaborate closely with licensed Physical Therapists to carry out individualized plans of care and help each patient continue progressing toward meaningful functional goals.

Your clinical observations and communication are an important part of the Physical Therapy process.

You will:

  • Deliver skilled Physical Therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Carry out established plans of care
  • Progress therapeutic exercise based on patient response and Physical Therapist guidance
  • Help improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and function
  • Reinforce home exercise programs and patient education
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient presentation or progress
  • Document treatment accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists throughout the patient's episode of care

See the Progress Your Treatment Creates

Your caseload will primarily include geriatric and post-operative orthopedic patients who want to remain active, recover function, and maintain their independence.

You may help patients:

  • Recover after orthopedic surgery
  • Improve walking and functional mobility
  • Rebuild strength and endurance
  • Improve balance and stability
  • Reduce fall risk
  • Return to daily activities
  • Regain confidence with movement
  • Maintain greater independence

This is Physical Therapy where you can see the difference your treatment makes as patients become stronger, safer, and more confident.

Keep Growing as a Physical Therapist Assistant

You will be part of a collaborative Physical Therapy team where clinical questions, communication, and continued development are encouraged.

You will receive opportunities to:

  • Discuss patient progress directly with Physical Therapists
  • Receive clinical guidance and mentorship
  • Strengthen your treatment techniques
  • Develop stronger clinical decision-making within the PTA scope of practice
  • Improve your patient education and communication skills
  • Learn from experienced Physical Therapists
  • Continue building confidence throughout your PTA career

You will have support when you need it while still being trusted to take ownership of the skilled treatment you provide.

A Strong Opportunity for New Graduate PTAs

New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Your first PTA position should give you the opportunity to build a strong clinical foundation rather than simply hand you a full schedule and expect you to figure everything out.

You will have experienced Physical Therapists available for:

  • Clinical questions
  • Treatment guidance
  • Patient progression discussions
  • Ongoing mentorship
  • Professional development
  • Regular feedback and collaboration

You will be able to strengthen your Physical Therapy skills while working in a care model that gives you enough time with each patient to learn, think, and provide quality treatment.

A Schedule Built for Better Balance

Your regular schedule includes:

  • Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Friday until 3:00 PM
  • No weekends
  • No on-call responsibilities

You will have a consistent weekly schedule, an early Friday finish, and more predictable time outside of the clinic.

What You Will Do

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver individualized Physical Therapy treatment under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Carry out established Physical Therapy plans of care
  • Progress therapeutic exercise appropriately based on patient response and clinical guidance
  • Apply manual therapy and movement-based techniques as directed
  • Help patients improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and function
  • Reinforce patient education and home exercise programs
  • Monitor patient response to treatment
  • Communicate progress, concerns, and changes in patient status to the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation
  • Build positive, encouraging relationships with patients
  • Help patients remain engaged throughout their recovery
  • Collaborate closely with Physical Therapists and other members of the care team
  • Contribute to a professional, supportive Physical Therapy environment
