Job Overview

Duties

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform care plans.
• Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders, including IV infusions and catheterizations.
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, processing, and medical imaging procedures.
• Manage airway care, ventilator support, and tube feedings for patients requiring specialized respiratory or nutritional support.
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
• Provide wound care, including dressing changes and aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on case management, discharge planning, and patient education for conditions like dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or infectious diseases.
• Support emergency response efforts by performing first aid, CPR, and acute pain management when necessary.
• Work with patients across the lifespan—including pediatrics, neonatal units, and geriatrics—delivering tailored nursing interventions.
• Engage in ongoing training related to ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medical terminology, and EMR/EHR management to enhance clinical efficiency.

Experience

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
• Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, or home care settings.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and patient tracking.
• Critical care experience preferred—especially ICU or emergency medicine—to handle acute situations confidently.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is highly valued.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and geriatric patient needs is essential for providing optimal senior care.
• Familiarity with medical procedures such as phlebotomy, venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, and oxygen therapy enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive nursing services.
• Strong communication skills for effective caregiver communication and family education regarding treatment plans and health coaching.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
