Duties

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform care plans.
• Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and catheterizations, following established protocols and safety procedures.
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, processing, and basic medical imaging when applicable.
• Manage wound care, including suturing and sterile dressing changes, ensuring infection control standards are maintained.
• Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or memory impairments in memory or hospice care settings.
• Support acute pain management strategies and assist with airway management and ventilator support for critical patients.
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, case management, and client communication for optimal health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Proven experience working with diverse populations including long-term care residents, pediatric patients, or individuals with disabilities; experience in skilled nursing facilities or hospital settings is highly valued.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation and records management.
• Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medication administration protocols, and infection control practices essential for quality patient care.
• Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy knowledge, and patient assessment techniques to deliver safe and effective nursing interventions.
• Excellent caregiver communication skills to educate patients and families about treatment plans while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms (ER), intensive care units (ICU), or trauma centers; critical care experience is a plus.
• Flexibility to adapt to various shifts across outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home & community care settings; travel nursing experience is advantageous.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
