LPN Job Description

Role Overview

• Primary Goal: Support patient safety, comfort, and clinical stabilization residential treatment.
• Work Setting: Inpatient residential rehab facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Monitoring: Check and record vital signs, weight, and general physical status. Assess patients for withdrawal symptoms and medication side effects.
• Medication Management: Safely administer prescribed oral medications, injections, or MAT substances (like Suboxone) following physician orders and clinic protocols.
• Patient Care & Support: Provide basic physical comfort and emotional support. Communicate therapeutically to help de-escalate crisis situations.
• Team Collaboration: Report patient status changes to Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians. Work alongside counselors and behavioral health specialists.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, thorough clinical records of patient symptoms, behavioral responses, and ongoing treatment progress.
• Patient Education: Teach clients and families about addiction recovery, relapse prevention, and prescribed medications.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
• License: Active, unencumbered state LPN/LVN license.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
• Skills: Compassion, strong observation skills, familiarity with addiction medicine, and an understanding of co-occurring mental health conditions (dual diagnosis).

Pay: $34.00 - $39.00 per hour
