Job Description

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing support to clients receiving services in a counseling center. The LPN works collaboratively with the clinical and behavioral health team to support treatment plans, monitor client health, administer medications as ordered, maintain accurate documentation, and promote a safe and supportive environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the LPN scope of practice and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and monitor clients for effectiveness and potential adverse reactions.
• Obtain and document vital signs and other relevant health information.
• Monitor clients for changes in physical or behavioral health status and communicate concerns to the appropriate clinical provider.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and medication records.
• Support individualized treatment and care plans in collaboration with counseling and clinical staff.
• Provide appropriate client education regarding medications, health needs, and treatment recommendations.
• Coordinate with nurses, counselors, physicians, and other members of the treatment team as appropriate.
• Follow medication-management and infection-control procedures.
• Respond appropriately to urgent medical or behavioral situations within the scope of the position.
• Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Promote a respectful, supportive, and therapeutic environment for clients receiving counseling and behavioral health services.

Position Requirements

• Current Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
• Minimum of one year of paid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) work experience within the past year providing direct patient care in a similar setting.
