Licensed Practical Nurse-Nights

Job Summary

Provide general care and education to residents, assist other nursing staff, conducts safety rounds, medication administration and other LPN duties.

Position Qualifications

• Proof of completion of a course in medication administration approved by the Board of Nursing
• Minimum Experience: 2 years
• License must be current and maintained as required with Ohio Board of Nursing and the State of Ohio
• CPR certification
• CPI certification within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Take patient vital signs.
• Perform common tasks including but not limited to treating bedsores, dressing wounds, bathing, dressing, etc.
• Coordinate visits and paperwork for patient/doctor visits.
• Assist doctors, nurses, and therapists with procedures.
• Record and report symptoms.
• Conduct safety rounds in accordance with policy & regulatory requirements.
• Review patient charts and record essential information including medical past and history, reactions, treatments
• Practice safety and health code standards.
• Perform jobs assigned by nurses and doctors as directed.
• Assure patient confidentiality of the medical record.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Work occurs in a fast-paced psychiatric inpatient setting with patients who may display unpredictable or aggressive behaviors and must use de-escalation skills and follow safety protocols. The role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, occasional lifting or assisting patients and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies while performing clinical tasks.

• Full-time
• 12-hour shifts
• Shift: 7:00pm-7:23am
• Required rotating weekends and holidays
• Additional $2.00 per hour performance incentive paid out every 6 weeks
• Pay is based on years of experience
