About the Position

Appendix Inc. is seeking a compassionate and motivated counseling professional to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We welcome qualified Residents in Counseling and eligible associate-level counselors who are working toward full licensure and looking to grow their clinical skills.

This role offers an opportunity to provide meaningful mental health services while developing your professional experience through clinical supervision, mentorship, and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group counseling under approved clinical supervision, as applicable to your credential.
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and screenings.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs and treatment goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based interventions appropriate to your training and qualifications.
• Collaborate with clinical supervisors and other professionals to support quality client care.
• Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
• Help clients develop coping skills, strengthen resilience, and work toward their mental health goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling or a closely related mental health field.
• Virginia Resident in Counseling registration in good standing, or eligibility to begin the residency process in Virginia.
• Associate-level counseling professionals may also apply if they meet the applicable Virginia requirements for the position.
• Interest in completing supervised clinical hours toward full professional licensure.
• Knowledge of CBT and other therapeutic approaches.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
• A compassionate, client-centered approach to mental health care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical supervisors and other team members.
