In this high-impact national role, you will partner closely with customers to help them maximize the value of their existing investments. Through a consultative sales approach, you will identify opportunities to improve productivity, analytical performance, workflow automation, and operational efficiency while leading complex upgrade projects from opportunity identification through successful closure.

You will work collaboratively with Sales, Service, Applications, Marketing, and Leadership teams to create demand, build a strong pipeline of lifecycle solutions opportunities, and deliver sustainable aftermarket growth.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and execute a national lifecycle solutions growth strategy utilizing installed-base intelligence and market insights.
  • Drive aftermarket revenue growth through the proactive identification, qualification, and development of lifecycle solutions opportunities.
  • Manage and convert marketing-qualified leads, customer inquiries, service-generated opportunities, and transactional sales opportunities.
  • Build, maintain, and convert a robust pipeline of upgrades, accessories, consumables, and automation enhancement opportunities.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting and consistently achieve order and revenue targets.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and business cases that clearly demonstrate customer value and return on investment.
  • Negotiate customer agreements and successfully close complex sales opportunities.
  • Conduct customer visits, installed-base reviews, and strategic account planning sessions to uncover productivity and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with System Sales, Service, Applications, Regional Management, and Marketing teams to accelerate opportunity conversion.
  • Serve as the U.S. subject matter expert for lifecycle solutions, providing commercial leadership for upgrade and installed-base growth initiatives.
  • Maintain strong customer engagement and market visibility through regular travel and customer interactions.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, scientific, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in analytical instrumentation, aftermarket sales, service, customer support, or other customer-facing commercial roles.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory and industrial X-ray markets.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Malvern Panalytical's XRF, XRD, semiconductor, and thermo-physical instrumentation portfolios.
  • Proven success in consultative selling, strategic account planning, and value-based sales methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify installed-base opportunities and deliver profitable business growth.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and extended sales timelines.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage technical, operational, procurement, and executive decision-makers.
  • Experience translating technical capabilities and lifecycle solutions into measurable customer business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with hands-on experience in instrument service, support, or lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, sales analytics, AI-enabled sales tools, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, customer-facing environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience selling upgrades, consumables, accessories, automation solutions, or aftermarket service offerings.
  • Experience working across semiconductor, materials characterization, mining, cement, metals, or industrial manufacturing markets.
  • Familiarity with digital commerce platforms and e-commerce sales channels.
  • Experience leading large-scale instrument modernization or upgrade projects.
  • International business exposure within scientific instrumentation markets.

What's in it for you

  • Take ownership of a national growth strategy focused on lifecycle solutions and aftermarket revenue expansion.
  • Partner with customers to improve operational performance, productivity, and return on investment from existing instrumentation.
  • Work cross-functionally with commercial, technical, and leadership teams across the organization.
  • Build expertise as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in lifecycle solutions and installed-base optimization.
  • Gain exposure to a broad range of analytical instrumentation technologies and industrial markets.
  • Enjoy a competitive rewards package, professional development opportunities, and a flexible remote working environment.
