Lift Operator

Position Description The Ski Lift Operator plays an essential role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the ski lifts, which are important to the functioning of ski resorts. As a lift operator you will have to report to work 1 hour before the slope is opened for the day to ensure the lifts are ready. You will be trained in how to complete these tasks and will be required to complete them.

Lift Operators are responsible for safely loading and unloading skiers and snowboarders from the chair and surface lifts. Training will be provided to help you make appropriate decisions when operating the chairlift. A friendly smile and pleasant personality are required as you will be interacting with guests. You must dress warmly and be prepared for cold weather as you will be required to be outside for many hours a day in this position. Your employer may ask you to perform other duties related to your job type.

Ski Lift Operator Duties Include:

1. Perform daily routine safety checks and routine maintenance of the lift to ensure it is in                                                                                                proper working order and keep the lift area clean and free of excess snow, ice,                                                          and debris to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all passengers.

2. Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the lift

3. Assist passengers in safely getting on and off the lift

4. Monitor lift machinery and report any issues or faults immediately to management

5. Communicate with passengers about lift use and safety procedures

6. Call for emergency assistance if required for a guest

7. Control crowds and manage the line-up area for passengers waiting to ride the lift

8. Check and verify lift ticket and passes

9. Work in all weather conditions and withstand the physical demands of the job

10. Provide excellent customer service to all guests

11. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

12. NO PHONES OR AIR BUDS ARE TO BE USED WHEN YOU ARE WORKING.

 A Chestnut coat and a pair of snowpants will be provided during your time working for use.
