Lifting Supervisor

Location: Bedburg, Germany — site-based

Salary: Up to €90,000

We are recruiting a Lifting Supervisor to join an international engineering and construction contractor. Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee lifting operations and precast concrete installation, ensuring activities are planned and delivered safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise lifting operations, preparing and updating lift plans, method statements and risk assessments.
• Coordinate crane crews and lifting teams, checking competence, certifications and training requirements.
• Ensure lifting equipment and accessories are inspected, maintained and correctly documented.
• Oversee precast concrete installation, including erection sequences, rigging methods, alignment, temporary bracing and final fixing.
• Coordinate deliveries and component handling alongside crane operations, site traffic and other trades.
• Work closely with the Temporary Works Coordinator, structural engineers, precast manufacturers and subcontractors.
• Lead safety briefings, manage defect and incident reporting, and maintain installation and inspection records.
• Monitor crane utilisation, breakdowns and operational performance.
• Undertake or coordinate Crane Coordinator, Crane Supervisor and MEWP Coordinator responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Appointed Person (AP) qualification.
• Relevant experience planning and supervising lifting operations.
• Experience coordinating crane teams and precast concrete installation.
• Strong understanding of lifting equipment, rigging methods and site safety requirements.
• Good communication, organisation and subcontractor coordination skills.
• Temporary Works Supervisor qualification is beneficial but not essential.
