Light Equipment Operator

Join our dynamic construction team as a Light Equipment Operator and play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of various infrastructure projects. In this energetic position, you will operate and maintain essential construction machinery, support excavation and grading activities, and help uphold the highest safety standards on-site. Your expertise will contribute directly to building durable, safe, and efficient infrastructure while advancing your skills in heavy equipment operation and construction utility work.

Duties

• Operate a variety of light and heavy construction equipment including loaders, excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers to perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on all machinery to ensure optimal operation and adherence to equipment safety procedures.
• Assist with construction utility work such as utility locating and horizontal drilling to support infrastructure installation projects.
• Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
• Support construction site activities by performing grading, excavation, backfilling, and site preparation tasks with precision.
• Operate commercial trucks for transporting materials or equipment around the job site while complying with commercial driving standards.
• Collaborate with team members to execute construction plans efficiently while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating construction machinery such as loaders, excavators (including Caterpillar models), dozers, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues independently.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
• Knowledge of construction utility work including utility locating techniques.
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures.
• Construction site experience with a focus on excavation, grading, paving, and general heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
• Construction experience involving the use of heavy machinery such as backhoes, loaders, graders, dozers, excavators, and water trucks is highly desirable.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
