Overview

Full-time and part-time · 286 Brook St, Providence RI · Starting late September

Minimum 20 hours a week · $18.50 – $20.50 an hour plus tips · Reports to the Manager

Summary

Accountable for prepping ingredients, cooking and assembling items.

Shifts

Shifts are up to six hours and vary week to week, including some early starts.

Duties

• Cook and finish items across the hot section (e.g., fried proteins, braises, stews and sauces) to a consistent specification through service.
• Operate and maintain fryer equipment, including oil quality, filtration and temperature control.
• Assemble, plate and check dishes through service
• Carry out daily preparation (e.g., marinades, sauces, portioning and mise en place) and set the section up for the following shift.
• Keep temperature records, stock rotation and cleaning schedules up to date, and minimize waste.
• Work safely with hot equipment and follow food hygiene standards.
• Receive deliveries, check them against the order and rotate stock.
• Clean up equipments at the end of shift

Skills

• Experience: Kitchen experience is welcome but not essential. We are happy to train someone who wants to learn.
• Availability: Some weekend and holiday availability is needed.
• Physical: Able to work in a hot environment, stay on your feet for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Skills: Time management and multitasking under pressure. Verbal and written communication. Some knowledge of food safety and sanitation.

Pay: $18.50 - $20.50 per hour
