We specialize in aburi sushi and signature Japanese dishes, combining time-honored traditions with modern creativity and a relaxed dining atmosphere.

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Line Cook who takes pride in quality, consistency, cleanliness, and efficient kitchen operations.

Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time

Pay: $18.00–$21.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to IAN SUSHI recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
• Complete daily food preparation, including cutting vegetables, preparing proteins, making sauces, and organizing ingredients
• Assist with preparing ingredients for the sushi bar as needed
• Prepare basic sushi rolls and support Sushi Chefs with ingredient preparation and other daily sushi bar duties
• Set up and stock the assigned station with all necessary ingredients, utensils, and supplies
• Cook dishes accurately and efficiently while maintaining proper cooking times and temperatures
• Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, appearance, and preparation
• Coordinate with sushi chefs, other kitchen staff, and front-of-house team members to ensure timely service
• Inspect ingredients for freshness and store food safely using proper labeling, rotation, and storage procedures
• Monitor station inventory and notify management when ingredients or supplies need to be reordered
• Minimize food waste through careful preparation, portioning, rotation, and storage
• Keep workstations, cooking equipment, and kitchen areas clean, organized, and properly sanitized
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements
• Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing kitchen supplies as needed
• Perform opening, closing, and general kitchen duties

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience as a Line Cook, Kitchen Cook, or in a similar restaurant kitchen position is preferred
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and commercial kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation requirements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency
• Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong commitment to cleanliness, organization, and food safety
• Ability to manage multiple orders and tasks during busy service periods
• Reliable, punctual, adaptable, and team-oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred
