Line Cook

Overview

District Bar Restaurant is a premium casual gastro lounge with a scratch kitchen serving the busy stadium, entertainment district and Yaletown community. Serving lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends we are hiring a full time Cook 1 and Cook 2 .

Job Summary

• Assisting Head Chef in preparation and service of all meals
• Working independently and with team on line (garde manger, fryer, grill, entree)

Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
• Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
• Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety regulations and sanitation standards
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment throughout shifts
• Serve dishes promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
• Follow all food safety guidelines and proper storage procedures for ingredients and leftovers
• Support other kitchen staff as needed during service periods

Qualifications

• Three (3) years previous experience in restaurant kitchen environment
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
• Strong understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings as required
• Passion for delivering high-quality meals and exceptional customer service

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
