Are you a skilled cook who thrives under pressure and loves the art of cooking from scratch? George Washington's Mount Vernon Inn is seeking a passionate, high-energy Part-Time Line Cook to join our fast-paced kitchen team.

As a historic dining destination, we welcome guests year-round, making weekend availability essential and operation during most major holidays a key part of our commitment to exceptional hospitality.

What You Will Do

• Master the Line: Execute high-volume preparation across multiple stations, including heavy grilling, sautéing, searing, and plating.
• Cook from Scratch: Work with fresh, high-quality ingredients to prepare traditional and contemporary recipes to exact specifications.
• Thrive Under Pressure: Maintain speed, accuracy, and composure during high-stress, high-volume peak service hours.
• Communicate Clearly: Call out tickets, coordinate timing with teammates, and maintain a seamless flow in the kitchen.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of line cook experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant.
• Scratch Kitchen Background: Proven comfort working with raw ingredients, knife handling, and executing recipes from scratch.
• Technical Skill: Strong proficiency in advanced cooking techniques (grilling and sautéing are a must).
• Core Competencies: Excellent communication skills, a team-first attitude, and the ability to stay calm in high-stress environments.
• Availability: Flexible schedule with consistent availability for weekends and major holidays.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, navigate and go up and down stairs, and safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
