Line Cook

Cafe Tulum, a full-service Mexican restaurant in Georgetown, Washington, DC, is looking for 1–2 Line Cooks to join our growing kitchen team.

We are looking for cooks who are dependable, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen, and take pride in the quality and presentation of every plate.

Experience working in a Mexican or Japanese kitchen is strongly preferred. We especially value candidates who understand strong prep, consistency, cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and execute menu items according to Cafe Tulum recipes and standards
• Maintain consistent portioning, quality, and plate presentation
• Complete daily prep and keep stations stocked and ready for service
• Work efficiently during high-volume service
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards
• Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and the BOH team
• Assist with opening, closing, prep, and general kitchen responsibilities as needed

What we’re looking for:

• Previous professional kitchen or line cook experience
• Mexican or Japanese restaurant experience strongly preferred
• Strong kitchen fundamentals and knife skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Ability to take direction and work well as part of a team
• Organized and consistent during busy service
• Spanish-speaking or bilingual candidates are welcome

Schedule: Full-time and part-time opportunities available. Evening and weekend availability is important.

We are hiring immediately and looking for candidates who can begin training as soon as possible.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
