Line Cook

The Role: Greyhound Tavern is opening in Brentwood, Burnaby, and we're hiring full- and part-time cooks for all shifts. We're looking for cooks who love food and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen. This is a place to grow your skills, take ownership of your station and be part of a team that takes quality seriously. You show up with energy, keep things clean and organized, and understand that a great guest experience starts long before the plate hits the table.

What We're Looking For

• 1 year of cooking experience in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and knife skills
• Understanding of safe food handling and cleanliness
• Ability to take direction and work quickly and efficiently
• Strong teamwork, organization and ownership

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Prep food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen team
• Report to and follow instructions from the head chef or sous chef
• Clean your station and properly handle leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure food comes out together, at high quality and on time
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive, professional approach with coworkers and guests
• Shut down, clean and reset the kitchen at close
