The Witch’s Cottage is seeking a dependable and experienced Line Cook – Hot Line to join our kitchen team. This role focuses on the hot side of the kitchen, including grill, fryer, and hot food preparation during service.

We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced kitchen, communicates clearly with teammates, and takes pride in consistency and quality. Our menu focuses on comforting, homemade-style food served in a warm and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items using grill, flat top, fryer, and other hot line equipment
• Follow recipes and plating standards to ensure consistent food quality
• Maintain awareness of ticket flow and help ensure timely service
• Set up and stock the hot line before service
• Maintain proper food temperatures and safe food handling practices
• Keep the station clean, organized, and stocked during service
• Assist with prep tasks as needed
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and management
• Help maintain a clean kitchen and follow all health and safety regulations

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience working as a line cook or cook in a restaurant kitchen
• Experience working with grill, fryer, or hot line stations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
• California Food Handler Card (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume café, brunch, or casual dining kitchens
• Experience with scratch cooking or comfort-style food
• Passion for hospitality and collaborative kitchen environments
