Hours: 36 hrs/week

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, stoves, and food processors
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards
• Assist with meal assembly, portioning, and plating to ensure timely service
• Collaborate closely with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate orders and deliver excellent service
• Follow all safety protocols during food handling, cooking, and cleaning procedures
• Support inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supply needs

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a focus on quality and safety standards
• Strong knife skills with precise slicing techniques for various ingredients
• Knowledge of menu planning and recipe adherence to ensure consistency across dishes
• Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus
• Understanding of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures certification a plus
• Catering experience or familiarity with large-scale meal preparation is advantageous
• Excellent cleaning habits to maintain hygiene standards throughout the kitchen
• Culinary experience that demonstrates creativity, attention to detail, and efficiency
