The Ragtrader is a lively Midtown restaurant serving shareable plates, pizzas, and approachable comfort dishes with globally inspired flavors. We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Line Cook who takes pride in good food, works well with a team, and can keep a station running smoothly during busy service. (ragtradernyc.com)

What you’ll do

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Set up, organize, and stock your station before service; replenish ingredients as needed.
• Coordinate timing and communicate clearly with the kitchen team to ensure accurate, prompt tickets.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, allergen-awareness, and safe food-handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area throughout the shift and complete closing duties.
• Assist with prep, receiving, storage, and other kitchen tasks as directed.
• Work across stations as needed, including sauté, grill, fry, and pizza.

What we’re looking for

• Previous line-cook or kitchen experience preferred; we’re open to candidates eager to learn.
• Familiarity with basic cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and safe food handling.
• Ability to stay organized, focused, and composed in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and attendance.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• NYC food-protection certification, or willingness to obtain it, preferred.

Physical requirements
