Job Description

The Empanada Bar is growing, and we're looking for a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team!

We are a locally owned café specializing in handcrafted empanadas, Cuban-inspired dishes, breakfast, and specialty menu items. We take pride in preparing fresh, quality food and creating a welcoming experience for our customers.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, stays organized under pressure, and wants to grow with a business that values teamwork, consistency, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Operate fryers, grills, panini presses, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Prepare empanadas, sandwiches, breakfast items, and other menu offerings.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation.
• Complete daily food preparation, opening, and closing duties.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Assist with inventory rotation, restocking, and minimizing food waste.
• Communicate effectively with team members during busy service periods.
• Work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to scheduled shifts.
• Positive attitude and willingness to take direction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work weekends and a variety of shifts.
• Food Handler Certification required or willingness to obtain one.
