Line Cook

Mean Deans Local Kitchen is hiring an experienced line cook to join our kitchen team. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can handle a busy kitchen, and works well with others.

Starting Pay: $16–$22 per hour, based on experience and skill level.

Higher starting pay is reserved for experienced cooks who are proficient at all stations (Grill, Sauté, and Mid) and can confidently run the line, coordinate ticket times, and keep service running smoothly during busy shifts.

Schedule & Availability

• Open for lunch and dinner
• Day shifts begin late morning
• Evening shifts begin at 4 PM
• Sunday availability is required
• Preference given to candidates with open availability

Requirements

• Previous full-service restaurant cooking experience required (fast-food experience alone does not qualify)
• Experience working Grill, Sauté, and/or Mid stations
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately during busy service
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow recipes, maintain consistency, and meet chef specifications
• Dependable, organized, and able to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations before service
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, proteins, and other items as needed
• Execute menu items accurately and efficiently
• Coordinate with other cooks to ensure orders are completed together and on time
• Maintain food quality, presentation, and portion consistency
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and properly stocked
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures
• Follow direction from the Kitchen Manager and maintain a professional attitude
