Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Bilingual Line Cook to join our dynamic team at Bytown Catering in Kingston at the Corrections Canada Training Academy . We serve up to 90 recruits’ 7 days a week in a cafeteria setting.

This is a newly created role designed to support the continued growth and operational needs of our organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and company standards
• Ensure food is cooked and presented in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
• Assist in inventory management and ingredient prep
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
• Adapt to special dietary requests or menu modifications

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Food handler certification, in progress of obtaining, or open to receive.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be available for 6am start of day.
• Must have Red Seal certification.
• Bilingual in both French and English is preferred.

The successful candidate must have or be eligible for government issued security clearance.
