Line Cook

Il Fornello, a fast-paced Italian restaurant in Richmond Hill, is seeking experienced full-time and part-time line cooks who are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and enhancing our guests' dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards

• Ensure designated section is prepared and ready for service

• Assist in daily food preparation and ensure all ingredients are ready for service

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines

• Stock and replenish supplies as needed during service

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen

• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service

• Clean the kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures

• Follow all health and safety regulations and policies

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of line cook experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment; experience with Italian cuisine

• Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent preferred

• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Strong communication skills and teamwork-oriented mindset

• Ability to lift, reach, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
