Schedule: Day shifts only (approx. 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM), including weekends and holidays.

About Us

The Breakfast Company is a daytime restaurant dedicated to serving the best morning and lunch fare in town. We are seeking dedicated and efficient line cooks to join our back-of-house team. We offer a positive kitchen environment, consistent day shifts (meaning no late nights!), and the chance to work with quality ingredients.

Responsibilities

You will be an essential part of the kitchen operations, responsible for executing dishes to our high standards during peak hours. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and cooking a variety of menu items (eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, etc.) using grills, fryers, and ovens.
• Following standardized recipes and presentation specifications meticulously to ensure consistency.
• Stocking and maintaining a clean, organized, and properly stocked assigned station throughout the shift.
• Ensuring food quality and safety standards are met at all times, adhering to all health code regulations.
• Communicating effectively with the Kitchen Manager and front-of-house staff regarding orders, wait times, and inventory needs.
• Handling food prep tasks for the next day as assigned.
• Performing general cleaning duties of the kitchen area, equipment, and floors at the end of the shift.
• Operating standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven cooking experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook is essential (mention minimum years if required, e.g., 1+ years).
• Experience in a high-volume breakfast/brunch or short-order cook environment is a major plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining quality.
• Knowledge of food safety best practices and sanitation standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot kitchen environment.
• Reliable transportation is a must, especially for early morning shifts.
• Valid Food Handler Certification or equivalent certification is required.
