What they need

Locke Street Cycle & Social House is looking for an energetic, multi-talented Line Cook & Prep Associate to join our kitchen team. We are a hybrid community hub blending specialty coffee, cycling, and a streamlined, high-quality food menu.

In this role, efficiency and multitasking are key. You will seamlessly manage line assembly and active order execution while staying on top of light food prep for our easy, streamlined menu. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in consistent food quality, and enjoy keeping a clean, well-organized kitchen, we’d love to have you on the team.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Line Assembly

  • Efficiently assemble and build orders from our streamlined menu to order, ensuring speed, accuracy, and consistent presentation.
  • Balance line cooking with ongoing prep tasks during shifts—chopping, measuring, portioning, and preparing fresh ingredients from scratch.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain food stations with all necessary ingredients, sauces, and line supplies throughout the shift.
  • Monitor raw ingredient and prep inventory levels, flagging low items to management or updating the shift prep list.
  • Communicate clearly with Front-of-House (FOH) staff regarding order timing, daily specials, or out-of-stock menu items.

Kitchen Operations & Food Safety

  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines when preparing, handling, and storing food.
  • Keep kitchen equipment, food assembly surfaces, sinks, and prep stations clean, sanitary, and organized.
  • Maintain kitchen dishware throughout the shift to keep workstations clear and efficient.
  • Support a collaborative, positive team culture in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Multitasking Ability: Proven ability to balance order assembly and ingredient prep simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or kitchen team member in a cafe or fast-casual restaurant setting.
  • Food Handler Certification (Required).
  • Physical & Schedule Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and comfortably lift kitchen inventory and equipment.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and morning/evening shifts as needed.
