Ian Munsick Cowboy Bar & Western Grill is a brand new restaurant coming to historic Deadwood, South Dakota, located right beside The Landmark Hotel. We're building our founding kitchen team and looking for experienced, dependable Line Cooks who want to help open something special from day one.

This is a ground-floor opportunity. The team we hire now will help set the standard, learn our systems, and grow with the restaurant.

OPENING TIMELINE & WHAT TO EXPECT

• Applications reviewed on a rolling basis — apply early.
• Interviews begin as soon as strong candidates apply.
• New hires start the last week of August or the first week of September 2026.
• Onboarding includes menu, recipe, and station training under our Executive Chef before and during opening.
• Expect hands-on training in our systems, recipes, and closing/opening procedures during the opening weeks.

We will communicate clear start dates and scheduling with every candidate we move forward, so you always know where you stand in the process.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Cook and prep across multiple stations while following our recipes and system.
• Work directly under the Executive Chef and kitchen leadership.
• Handle prep, cooking, dish washing, and station cleanliness during your shift.
• Complete full opening and closing procedures accurately and consistently.
• Cover and rotate across additional stations during slower seasons.
• Perform well under pressure and keep quality high during our busy season.
• Communicate and work as part of a tight, reliable team.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experienced cooks comfortable working multiple stations.
• Adaptable team players who can flex to more responsibility when it's slow and stay composed and fast when it's busy.
• Able to follow recipes, systems, and direction consistently.
• Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and a team-first attitude.
• Committed to cleanliness, food safety, and doing things the right way.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior line cook / kitchen experience preferred.
• South Dakota does not require a statewide food handler card; Our kitchen operates under a Certified Food Protection Manager as required by South Dakota law.
• Must be able to stand for long periods, work in a hot kitchen environment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
