Line Cook/Prep Cook

Overview

Southern Smokehouse, a brand new BBQ restaurant located in the Oceanway area, is seeking experienced and fast-paced team members to join us as Line Cooks/Prep Cooks. This role is essential to our busy opening and ongoing operations, requiring dedicated individuals who thrive in a dynamic kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking menu items, and supporting the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food efficiently. PAY WILL BE DETERMINED BASED OFF EXPERIENCE.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble ingredients according to recipes and quality standards
• Cook and plate menu items in a timely manner during busy service hours
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations throughout shifts
• Assist with food prep tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service and uphold restaurant standards
• Support the opening process by setting up stations and ensuring all equipment is ready for service

Experience

• Prior experience as a line cook or prep cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred
• Knowledge of BBQ cuisine and preparation techniques is a plus but not required
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward collaboration
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour
