Linehaul despatch coordinator

About the role

You will be responsible for coordinating and despatching daily transport operations while ensuring customer requirements and delivery schedules are met. This is a busy and varied role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced transport environment, can think on their feet, and works well with both drivers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and despatching transport operations
• Coordinating drivers and daily linehaul movements
• Providing excellent customer service and communication
• Monitoring jobs and keeping customers and drivers updated
• Using GPS, messaging and transport/despatch systems
• Prioritising workloads and managing changing requirements
• Problem solving and resolving operational issues
• Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ensuring transport schedules and timeframes are achieved

About you

• Has previous experience in a transport, logistics or despatch coordination role
• Has excellent communication skills and enjoys dealing with drivers and customers
• Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a team
• Is reliable, organised and able to work under pressure
• Has strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Has good computer skills and is comfortable learning new systems
• Has excellent attention to detail and time-management skills
• Saphire / Translogix experience would be an advantage
