What they need
Required / Mandatory Knowledge/Skills:
- Install, configure, and harden Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE)
- Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and SSH access in accordance with security policies
- Perform patch management, kernel upgrades, and software installations using native package managers (YUM, APT, Zypper)
- Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, storage, and network
- Design, implement, and test backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery procedures
- Automate routine tasks and deployments with shell scripting (Bash), Python, or configuration-management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
