Linux Operating Systems engineer

Job Title: Linux Operating Systems engineer

Location: Minneapolis, MN (Day 1 onsite, 4 days office)

Duration: Long term contract

Must have: RHEL, Bash/Python/Perl scripting, Security & Compliance

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience

1. Strong hands-on experience with Linux distribution Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

2. Proficiency in system installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

3. Experience with Bash, Python, or Perl scripting. Ability to automate routine administration tasks, system monitoring, and deployments using tools such as Ansible

4. System Performance and Troubleshooting

(a)Strong knowledge of Linux processes, memory management, file systems, networking, and kernel concepts.

(b)Ability to analyze logs, identify root causes, and resolve performance or availability issues.

5. Security and Compliance

(a)Knowledge of Linux hardening, user/access management, security patching, SELinux, auditing, and vulnerability remediation.

(b)Experience following enterprise security and compliance standards.

Linux Administration

• 5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
• Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8) .
• Experience managing enterprise Linux environments at scale.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience supporting Linux workloads in AWS Cloud .
• Experience with:
• EC2
• EBS
• VPC
• IAM
• CloudWatch
• Auto Scaling

Automation & Scripting

• Proficiency in:
• Bash Shell Scripting
• Python
• Ansible
