About the Company

We are a fast-growing technology company operating large-scale online platforms and websites. We are looking for a passionate Linux Server Engineer to manage production Linux servers, maintain website availability, and ensure stable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure.

This is a fully remote position, ideal for candidates who enjoy Linux administration, troubleshooting, automation, and working independently.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Server Administration

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu/CentOS) in production environments.
• Ensure high availability, stability, and security of online servers.
• Perform routine server maintenance, system upgrades, and security patching.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, SSH access, and system configurations.

Website & Infrastructure Maintenance

• Maintain websites and web applications running on Linux servers.
• Configure and maintain Nginx and/or Apache web servers.
• Monitor server performance, CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization.
• Perform regular backups and recovery testing.

Troubleshooting & Incident Response

• Diagnose and resolve Linux operating system and server-related issues.
• Troubleshoot website downtime, slow response, and application failures.
• Analyze logs to identify root causes and prevent recurring incidents.
• Participate in on-call support rotation for critical production issues.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and maintain Bash scripts to automate routine operational tasks.
• Improve monitoring, deployment, and maintenance processes.
• Document infrastructure, troubleshooting procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Collaborate with development teams during deployments and system upgrades.

Requirements

Technical Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on Linux server administration experience.
• Good knowledge of Ubuntu and/or CentOS.
• Comfortable working in Linux command-line environments (SSH, vim, nano, grep, awk, systemctl, journalctl).
• Experience with Bash scripting for automation.
• Experience managing Nginx and/or Apache web servers.
• Basic knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB (backup, restore, basic SQL queries).
• Familiarity with Redis.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for Linux servers and web applications.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Alibaba Cloud.

• Basic knowledge of Git.

• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.

• Familiarity with monitoring and security tools such as:

  • htop
  • netstat
  • fail2ban
  • iptables
  • cron

• Experience with Docker or container technologies is an advantage.

• Knowledge of monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix is a plus.
