Linux System Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Linux Infrastructure Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Satellite, and enterprise infrastructure management . The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and supporting Linux infrastructure services across large-scale enterprise environments.

The role requires hands-on experience in Linux administration, configuration management, OS provisioning, patch management, automation, and integration with enterprise security and monitoring platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Infrastructure Management

• Administer and support RHEL 7.x, 8.x, and 9.x environments.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers in physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments.
• Perform OS installation, upgrades, patching, hardening, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot Linux OS, kernel, storage, networking, and performance issues.

Automation & Orchestration

• Design and develop automation solutions using Ansible.
• Create and maintain playbooks, roles, templates, inventories, and workflows.
• Automate server provisioning, configuration management, compliance validation, and application deployments.
• Optimize infrastructure processes through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

Red Hat Satellite Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Satellite infrastructure.
• Manage content views, lifecycle environments, activation keys, host groups, repositories, and subscriptions.
• Configure Satellite for automated OS provisioning and patch management.
• Perform troubleshooting related to Satellite, Capsule Servers, and repository synchronization.

Ansible Platform Administration

• Deploy and manage Ansible Automation Platform / AWX / Ansible Tower.
• Configure RBAC, credentials, inventories, job templates, and workflow automation.
• Integrate Ansible with Satellite, ServiceNow, VMware, Cloud platforms, and monitoring tools.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks and standards.

Security & Compliance

• Implement CIS benchmark and security hardening standards.
• Support vulnerability remediation activities.
• Integrate Linux platforms with CyberArk, LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory, and PAM solutions.
• Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements.

Monitoring & Operations

• Integrate Linux systems with enterprise monitoring tools such as:
• SCOM
• Splunk
• Prometheus
• Grafana
• Zabbix
• Dynatrace
• Perform incident, problem, and change management activities.
• Participate in on-call and critical incident support.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Create SOPs, operational runbooks, architecture documents, and deployment guides.
• Provide KT sessions and mentoring to operations teams.
• Support transition-to-support and production go-live activities.
