Ideal Candidate

Are you an experienced, extremely organized and detail-oriented litigation paralegal interested in stepping away from a high-volume caseload and focusing on high-quality case work in a client centric environment?

You are comfortable and curious about using technology to improve quality, efficiency and client experience. You are results driven, organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and excel in working with a team. You look forward to partnering directly with the Principal Attorney, managing cases from intake through resolution in a close-knit, family-oriented workplace that values quality, initiative, collaboration, laughter and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deadline and priority control. Maintain accurate deadlines, court dates, discovery obligations, follow-ups, and attorney priorities. Identify next actions, confirm completion, provide concise updates, and promptly flag approaching requirements.
  • Electronic file management. Keep matter files complete and consistently organized. Promptly name, OCR, classify, and file documents so records remain searchable and attorney ready.
  • Document production and quality control. Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize litigation documents for attorney review. Verify names, dates, citations, exhibits, formatting, signatures, and filing requirements, and coordinate filing, service, and delivery.
  • Written discovery. Draft requests, responses, and objections for attorney review; organize client information and documents; and track discovery through completion.
  • Research and case support. Conduct directed factual and legal research, verify authorities, and organize authorities, records, and exhibits for attorney review.
  • Scheduling and follow-through. Coordinate litigation events, services, and vendors; organize witness, exhibit, hearing, and deposition materials; and follow up consistently until each needed item or action is secured.
  • Communication and attorney coordination. Draft professional correspondence and authorized communications, provide timely client updates, and flag matters requiring attorney attention with the issue, deadline, and recommended next step.
  • Additional support. Work with other team members in other areas, as needed. Duties that may include other practice areas, administrative and office management assignments.

Qualifications and Availability

  • Experience. At least (8) eight years of substantial civil litigation paralegal experience, including deadlines, discovery, pleadings, filings, and case preparation. Strong knowledge of Georgia court procedures, e-filing systems, and litigation deadlines is required; probate, trust, estate, or Superior Court litigation experience is preferred.
  • Availability. Occasional remote availability after hours, including some weekends, is required for deadlines and urgent needs.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft 365 Office - Advanced proficiency with Word, Outlook, Excel, One Drive and SharePoint.
  • Adobe – Proficient with Acrobat Pro, PDF editing and OCR
  • Legal technology. Georgia e-filing systems, Legal research tools and legal practice management software. Experience with MyCase is a plus.
  • Responsible use. Use approved technology securely, follow confidentiality requirements and attorney direction, verify sources, and independently review work.

Organization, Judgment, and Working Style

  • Communication. Write clearly, listen carefully, use sound judgment, and adapt tone and detail to the audience.
  • Organization and self-direction. Maintain reliable task and calendar systems, keep case status current, identify next actions, and provide concise updates. Own multi-step follow-through, move work forward, and seek attorney direction when legal judgment is needed.
  • Judgment and analytical ability. Understand complex facts and procedures, identify gaps or inconsistencies, propose practical next steps, and recognize when legal judgment is required.

Professional temperament. Be dependable, responsive, adaptable, discreet, tactful, and confident. Stay composed under pressure, communicate respectfully, protect working relationships, and complete assigned work.
