Litigation Associate

Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking a lateral Associate with Litigation experience to join its St. Louis Office . Litigation associates have an exciting opportunity to learn from and work closely with energetic, highly experienced legal practitioners in a friendly, cooperative environment. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of general commercial litigation experience. Candidates should have demonstrated experience with all phases of litigation, including appeals, and be able to drive matters from inception to conclusion.

• Simultaneously handles the high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages of progression
• Possesses strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills for communicating with colleagues, supervising attorneys and clients
• Demonstrates an ability to work independently and productively and shows a strong interest in advancing a career in litigation
• Produces high quality legal work and bills the required amounts of hours to ensure excellent client service
• Supports and advances existing client relationships and assists in the generation of business through group and individual efforts
• Complies with the very highest ethical standards of the legal profession

Required Education : Juris Doctor

Required Licenses and/or Certifications : Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of Missouri; must maintain applicable license renewal and CLE requirements. Admission in the state of Illinois is a plus.

Preferred Experience : 3+ years’ experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm. Litigation experience should include both traditional and electronic discovery, preparation for and taking depositions, motion drafting, and active participation in hearings and trial. Outstanding writing, research, analytical and oral advocacy skills. Significant courtroom experience (state and/or federal) including appeals. Strong academic credentials. Demonstrated ability to manage matters and to delegate to and manage junior associates. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a large collaborative team.

Physical Activity : The employee will be required to sit (or utilize a standing desk) for prolonged periods and work on a computer

Travel Required : Generally less than 10%, however, this will be case specific and may, at times, involve more travel.
