The Opportunity

A highly regarded international law firm is seeking a Dispute Resolution Associate to join its San Francisco office. The practice handles sophisticated domestic and cross-border disputes for a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals, families, businesses, and other organizations.

The position offers exposure to complex litigation and arbitration matters and is suited for an associate who is comfortable taking meaningful responsibility across all phases of a case.

Essential Responsibilities

• Handle matters through all phases of litigation and arbitration.

• Draft pleadings, including complaints and answers, motions, and memoranda of law.

• Conduct substantive legal research.

• Handle all phases of discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses and analyzing information produced in discovery.

• Take and defend depositions.

• Handle court appearances.

• Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies.

• Participate in business development and profile-building activities, including writing articles and posts, attending industry events and conferences, and developing professional networks and relationships.

• Manage additional responsibilities as required by individual matters and the practice.

Qualifications & Experience

• J.D. with strong academic credentials.

3–5 years of experience practicing in a law firm litigation group.

- California Bar membership in good standing required.

• Experience taking and defending depositions and handling court proceedings.

• Excellent legal drafting, writing, research, and communication skills.

• Experience with sophisticated domestic disputes and investigations required; international exposure is a plus.

• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

• Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.

Compensation

Expected base salary range: $210,000–$288,000 , depending on experience and other relevant factors.
