Role Description This full-time remote Litigation Associate role focuses on supporting and handling civil litigation matters within the firm’s primary practice areas, including real estate, business disputes, construction defect cases, and homeowner association matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal correspondence, as well as performing legal research and analysis to support case strategy. The Litigation Associate will prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations, and coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. The role also involves managing case files, tracking deadlines, assisting with trial preparation, and contributing to case evaluations and risk assessments in collaboration with supervising attorneys.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with experience or interest in real estate, business, construction defect, and homeowner association matters.
• Proficiency in drafting and responding to Motions and other litigation-related pleadings and discovery documents.
• Advanced Research skills, including legal research using primary and secondary authorities and effective application of findings to case strategy.
• Experience preparing for and conducting Depositions, or a demonstrated ability to assist senior attorneys with deposition strategy and outlines.
• Familiarity with Courts, including civil procedure, local rules, e-filing systems, and managing court deadlines and schedules.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple matters, and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
• Prior civil litigation experience, including motion practice and discovery, is strongly preferred.
